Dominic West reveals why he almost never agreed to play Prince Charles in ‘The Crown’

Dominic West almost never agreed to play Prince Charles in the last two seasons of ‘The Crown’.

The actor is starring as the royal family in season 5 of the hit Netflix show, which premieres Wednesday.

However, many people criticized the show for having members of the royal family relive Charles and Princess Diana’s infamous divorce and her tragic death before debuting on the streaming platform.

West claims that his admiration for Charles (now King Charles III) was too strong to take on most of the roles. town and country magazine.

When a reporter asked him why he wanted the role, he said, “I didn’t want it,” and admitted that he was “very nervous.”

West met Charles on numerous occasions throughout his continuing role as ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, which the monarch began in 1976. West had previously offered to step down as ambassador to the organization.
