Former Blue Jays LHP Anthony Banda chooses free agency after clearing waivers

The Toronto Blue Jays announced that left-handed pitcher Anthony Banda was selected to free agency after clearing waivers on Saturday.

Banda, who was appointed this Monday, made seven relief appearances for the Blue Jays, posting a 4.26 ERA, a 1.579 WHIP, and striking out seven times in 6.1 innings.
The 28-year-old from Corpus Christi, Texas was traded to Toronto for cash from the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 2nd.
He has a total of 30 relief appearances this season, a 5.88 ERA, a 1.885 WHIP, and 29 strikeouts in 26 innings.
