Hootsuite announces collaboration with WHO to combat global health crisis misinformation

Hootsuite, a Vancouver-based social media management company, has announced a strategic partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO). This is to manage misinformation, especially on social media, surrounding the global health crisis.

New Visa Collaboration Enables Installment Payments at Canadian Retailers

Visa installments allow eligible credit cardholders to convert eligible purchases into smaller, more predictable installments made over a period of time.

MediaSmarts brings back House Hippo with new Break the Fake campaign

MediaSmarts, an Ottawa-based nonprofit focused on media and digital literacy, has launched a new campaign called Break the Fake. This is to combat misinformation and empower consumers to think critically and check facts before sharing online content.

The campaign is embodied by House Hippo, the subject of a 1999 Canadian Television Public Service Advertisement (PSA). It was created to educate children about critical thinking and remind them not to believe everything they see on TV.

The campaign uses multiple workshops, quizzes, fact-checking tips, videos, and posters designed to help online users “spot the fakes” and distinguish between factual information and false information online. I’m here.

Airport Wait Time Dashboard Now Available at Mississauga’s Pearson Airport

Travelers at Toronto Pearson International Airport can now see all real-time wait times for everything from security to baggage claim on the new airport wait time dashboard.

Users can check how long it takes to clear security to US Customs in Terminals 1 and 3, see if the area is ‘normal’ or ‘busy’, and check all airline counters ( (including which counters are closed).
