Jon Hamm is stepping into the role first made famous by Chevy Chase.
In “Confess, Fletch,” Hamm stars as former investigative journalist Irwin M. “Fletch” Fletcher, who is called back by his editor (Ham’s former “Mad Men” co-star John Slattery) to delve into the story.
In the new trailer for the upcoming film, Fletch’s investigation makes him a prime suspect in the murder.

In addition to Hamm, the new comedy also stars Roy Wood Jr., Annie Mumolo, Aiden Maeri, Lorenzo Izzo, Kyle MacLachlan and Marcia Gay Harden.
Confess, Fletch opens in theaters and digitally on Friday, September 16th.
