Federal health minister says million units of imported painkiller for children are starting to hit pharmacy shelves
Federal Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos said the previously announced million units of imported children’s painkillers are starting to arrive on pharmacy shelves.
Meanwhile, Duclos said an additional 500,000 foreign units have been ordered and are expected in the coming weeks.
He says another shipment of children’s painkillers from Australia is heading to hospitals.

At a health press conference this morning, Duclos said domestic production increased last month, along with emergency imports.
He said more than 1.1 million children’s Advil products were manufactured by Canadian companies in November alone.
“At some locations, the shelves are showing units that have already been received.
“We expect to have very clear availability of these doses on local pharmacy shelves across the country in the coming week.”
