Kelowna Hells Angels prospect dies in car crash

A Kelowna Hells Angels prospect died after a car crash near Prince George.

Jason Townshend was involved in a crash while on his way to work earlier this month. He was placed on life support at Columbia University Hospital, but later died from his injuries.

His family originally started a GoFundMe to help with hospital expenses, but a second fundraiser was launched to help with the funeral.

“No one expected this outcome and as you can imagine, everyone is in complete shock at this point. His dad, Dennis, gave Jason the extra week he was given. How grateful I am for you, and how grateful I am that he fought with everything he had to stay on this earth, and that we all had a little short period of time. We spent many days with him after he came out of his coma,” read Beanne Krause’s post.

As of November 25th, Townsend has raised $6,335 of its $50,000 goal.

Townsend was described by the RCMP as a “known prospect” for the Kelowna Hells Angels, who faced domestic violence charges in 2021.

The 44-year-old man was originally charged with assault by assault and asphyxiation in August 2020. The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) marked the file as an intimate partner violence case.
