Elon Musk’s Bizarre Offer to Give ‘Child’ to Taylor Swift Stuns Netizens: ‘Will Guard Your Cats With…’
Elon Musk launched a sharp rebuke of Taylor Swift after she endorsed Kamala Harris following the VP’s standout performance in the first presidential debate against Donald Trump.
Swift, a major figure in the music industry, announced her support for Harris and her VP candidate JD Vance in an Instagram post. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader, and I believe we can achieve so much more if we are led by calm rather than chaos,” Swift wrote, linking to a voter registration site. The post, which has received over 4 million likes, also featured a photo of Swift with her cat Benjamin Button, signing off as “Childless Cat Lady” in response to JD Vance’s derogatory comments about women without children.
Vance’s 2021 remarks, which criticized Democrats and others as “childless cat ladies” who are unhappy with their own lives and seek to impose their misery on others, were a focal point for Swift’s post. The pop star also criticized Trump for using AI-generated images to falsely suggest she had endorsed him, which influenced her decision to back Harris.
In reaction to Swift’s endorsement, Musk, who supports Trump, tweeted, “Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.” The tweet, which has received over 1.3 million views, sparked confusion and surprise among users. One X user questioned, “Am I reading this right that you are offering to have a child with Taylor Swift?” while another simply wrote, “My God.” Libs of TikTok inquired, “What is happening?”
Swift’s fans have described Musk’s remarks as “creepy” and “weird,” with one fan stating, “She wants precisely zero to do with you.”
Swift explained in her post that Trump’s actions made her realize the need to be transparent about her voting choices. She assured her followers that she had thoroughly researched her decision.
The Trump campaign dismissed Swift’s endorsement, suggesting it reflected the Democratic Party’s alignment with “wealthy elites.” Trump’s spokesperson Karoline Leavitt noted, “There are many Swifties for Trump out there in America.”
