La Ronge Elks Club held a three-day fair in La Ronge on July 22nd, 23rd and 24th after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fair included regular rides, games of chance, bingo, and a wide range of dining options.
Despite the traditional rain, the appetites of onlookers were strong as evidenced by large crowds and lineups at most of the three-day events for rides, food, games, or just to visit and meet. It didn’t look sluggish at all, after all these years.
The parking lot was full even though they expanded the parking space on site.
Another highlight of the fair is the slow-pitch tournament with games played over the three days of the fair.
Rides were provided by Canuk Amusements. This ranged from slow for younger children to fairly scary experiences for the faint of heart.
Also, due to pandemic restrictions, there were opportunities throughout to visit people who hadn’t seen each other in a long time, and the fair expanded opportunities for fun and relaxation.
