“Mariners Secure 6-1 Victory Over Blue Jays with Raleigh’s Two-Run Homer in 10th Inning”

Toronto relievers Jordan Romano and Erik Swanson were seen preparing for their trip to Buffalo to continue their recovery from the injured list, a move eagerly anticipated by the Blue Jays bullpen, which has felt their absence keenly.

The Seattle Mariners managed to avoid a three-game sweep by scoring five runs in the 10th inning, clinching a 6-1 victory over the Blue Jays. Mitch Garver, the automatic runner, paved the way for Cal Raleigh’s decisive two-run homer off Tim Mayza. Mitch White struggled further, conceding three more runs, as Seattle secured their second win in eight games.

Manager John Schneider acknowledged the challenging circumstances faced by Mayza, whose velocity has dipped slightly in recent outings. With Romano and Swanson still in rehabilitation and closer Chad Green unavailable, the bullpen options were limited, placing additional pressure on Mayza.

Yusei Kikuchi provided a solid start for Toronto, supported by a strong performance from Yimi Garcia, but Mayza couldn’t maintain the momentum, leading to Seattle’s late surge.

The absence of Romano and Swanson, known for their high-leverage performances, has been felt keenly by the Blue Jays bullpen. Both pitchers, currently rehabilitating, are expected to resume their regular roles upon their return.

In the ninth inning, Toronto came close to securing victory, only to be denied by a superb defensive play by second baseman Jorge Polanco, which sent the game into extra innings.

Seattle capitalized on the opportunity, with White struggling to contain their offense, allowing an RBI double to Ty France and a two-run single to Mitch Haniger.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. provided a highlight for the Blue Jays with a towering home run in the seventh inning, showcasing his power with an exit velocity of 114.3 m.p.h. and an estimated distance of 459 feet.

Despite Guerrero’s heroics, Seattle’s Logan Gilbert delivered an impressive outing, allowing only one earned run and retiring seven consecutive Blue Jays batters.

The game concluded with Ryne Stanek recording the final outs for Seattle, securing their victory.

The Blue Jays will now regroup before their upcoming series against the Colorado Rockies, aiming to bounce back from their loss to the Mariners.
