Frills are fine. Snow and even sensual. But when you introduce the wind comes the moodiness.

The weather forecast says gusts of wind that turn to snow later on Saturday will end on Monday. Through it all the wind they whip. Lashing up to 60 km/h is expected at some points.

Some respite comes on Tuesday before the snow hits.

Then Edmonton winter is in full swing, with mercury poised to plummet to -25°C Thursday night.

Meanwhile, in northern Alberta, this story is outdated. Winter is already stamping its feet, with multiple snow warnings leaving their mark.

Forts McMurray and Fort McKay are the latest areas to have warnings issued over the weekend as heavy snowfall continues into Saturday night. It drops another 5-10 cm and in some areas reaches 25 cm over the weekend. Snow warnings were initially issued for High Level, Rainbow Lake, Fort Vermilion, and Mackenzie Highway, followed by Peace River, Fairview, High Prairie, Manning, Wavaska, Peerless Lake, Gift Lake, and Cadot Lake.
