Officers learned that the altercation involved several people who knew each other. A 34-year-old man allegedly threw a lawnmower at a 52-year-old man and his 54-year-old woman. The suspect then stabbed the man. Police said the woman suffered minor injuries.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene. Police say an officer saw a man smash a phone in the phone room of the Saskatoon Police Detention Center, rendering it inoperable.
