He’s one of Showbiz’s most idol musicians, but on Saturday night Drake stopped by the Backstreet Boys concert in Toronto, Ontario, and he felt the boy band’s 1999 smash “I Want It That Way.” For the first time, it was “cool” and “recognized.”
The boy band was playing the second of two shows on the Budweiser stage when a 35-year-old Toronto native went on stage.

As the crowd applauded, the singer of “Hotline Bling” explained how he encountered band member Kevin Richardson before the DNA World Tour Show, and how Quintet told him when he was young. I talked about how it had an impact.
“I really wanted to be here tonight,” he told the audience in a video posted on social media by band member Howie Dorough’s wife Lee. “I met my brother at a restaurant the other day. When I was in high school … I said I wasn’t a high school student, but a junior high school student. I was 13 years old, an awkward kid, and I fell in love with this girl at the time. “
The singer then shared that his crush didn’t seem to be interested, but thanks to “I Want It That Way,” everything changed.

“At the age of 13, I had something called Bar Mitzvah. In my Bar Mitzvah, for the first time in my life, this girl I loved came to me. The world is playing. I was out, “he said. “She asked me if I would dance with her, and it felt I was recognized for the first time.”
“It was the first time I thought it was cool,” Drake continued. “And the song she wanted to dance with me was one of the best songs ever. It’s one of the best songs ever made.”
The singer then said, “And, by the way, if she can see me now!”
Deafening applause continued when Drake introduced a track co-authored by Swedish hit makers Max Martin and Andreas Carlsson.
“Toronto, I want you to make a little noise, and I want you to sing this song as loud as possible,” he said. “As I said, this is one of the best songs in music history. I’ll go on stage and sing along. It’s called” I want it that way. ” ..
Standing in the middle of Richardson, Droff, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, and AJ McLean, Drake helped the group belt the hits and pretended to be a few boy band moves before opening poems with them. I sang.
Near the end of the track, Dorough played a snippet of Drake’s 2013 smash “Hold On, We’re Going Home” as he watched the musician shine and encourage him. “I like it!” He was enthusiastic.

Obviously a fanboy, Drake helped the group pull the final bow before leaving the stage before the encore.
The astonishing cameo surprised the fans. “I’m trembling,” tweeted Gemma, a longtime #bsbarmy member.
“Drake lives the dream of a millennial girl at BSB,” another concert attendee wrote.
Meanwhile, another fan tweeted. “I don’t know what this is, but since BSB is my child’s bfs and Drake is my adult’s bf, this is a kind of dream realization LMAO.”
