Disney’s “Pinocchio” is a live-action version of the classic fairy tale.
Disney+ released a trailer for its live-action adaptation of the 1940 animated film on Wednesday.
The film stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio and Tom Hanks as puppeteer father and creator Geppetto. Jiminy Cricket, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, takes on the role of a boy’s conscience and embarks on an adventure to learn what it means to be a real boy.

“Why would you want to be real when you can be famous?” asks the cunning fox character.
The cast also includes Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy. Keegan-Michael Key as “Honest” John; Lorraine Bracco as Sophia the Seagull and Luke Evans as the Charioteer.

The trailer showcases a realistically animated 3D Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket.
The film features Erivo performing a new version of the beloved song “When You Wish Upon a Star,” a new original composed by Academy Award-nominated Alan Silvestri and Glenn Ballard (“The Polar Express”). Songs are also featured.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis and co-written with Chris Weitz.
“Pinocchio” will be available exclusively on Disney+ on September 8th.
