Cyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run west of Port Hope: Northumberland OPP – Peterborough

Police say a cyclist was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash was reported in the city of Port Hope on Saturday morning.

Northumberland OPP reported a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle at approximately 9:40 am on County Route 2, west of County Route 65, about 13 kilometers west of the town of Port Hope.

Police said the 71-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

OPP said the pick-up truck involved did not remain at the scene. Police believe it’s a Dodge or Ram model with “obvious” damage to the passenger side mirror.

The clash is still under investigation.
