Crown College returns to Vernon after COVID

Now is the time to bring some fun into your life.

“We have survived COVID and all the other challenges the world is throwing at us right now. There is,” says Doris Bensmiller, aka Bubbles.

Luckily Vernon has a Calamarca Caring Crown. They are therapy clowns who visit hospitals and long-term care facilities, participate in non-profit fundraisers, and enjoy various parades.

“Therapeutic clowns don’t wear much makeup (the less the better) because it’s therapeutic, but they wear brightly colored costumes,” says Bensmiller. “There is a therapy he clown in the world who is helping bring joy into the world of others.”

They will have their annual training on Saturday, August 13th and Sunday, August 14th at People Place in the Kitchen Room from 9am to 4pm both days.

“This is your chance to join a crowd of fun-loving, caring people.”

Trainers Bubbles and Gizmo are very experienced and have been working with clowns for 22 years.

Call Doris (Bubbles) 250-546-6396, email dbensmiller@cliffview.ca, email Donna (Gizmo) 250-558-5923, or gizmo.aklown@shaw. Pre-registration is required by emailing ca.

“There are a limited number of open spaces. Having fun is a very popular desire, so you don’t have to wait too long. Then spend the whole weekend laughing happily (you might end up with sore cheeks from laughing too much. I don’t know.) See you there!
