17 years ago you might have been among the people who picked up the phone to vote for Carrie American idol.. Nearly 20 years later, the 39-year-old singer looks back on everything he achieved on the anniversary of the Great Victory.

Carrie used Instagram on May 25 to give fans special treatment as “thank you” for supporting her for many years and shared a handwritten diary post from the night she was crowned. Idol winner.

“Where are you going when time?” Carrie wrote in the caption. “Enjoy the page of the diary of a 22 year old farmer girl who just had a great night! I’m still excited through the page!”
