VIDEO: Sold-out crowd sees Conor Bedard lead Regina Patts to victory over Vancouver Giants

Fans packed the stands at the Langley Event Center to see the Vancouver Giants host Regina Patz on Friday night, Nov. 25.

A sold-out crowd of 5,276 watched Pat captain Conor Bedard, a rising star and top NHL prospect, lead his team to a 3–0 win.

Former Giants netminder Drew Sim stole the show with a 47-save shutout when he returned to Vancouver.

At 17, Bedard is Pat’s youngest ever captain. The hottest name in the 2023 NHL Draft conversation and projected to be No. 1 overall, he’s generating sold-out crowds in nearly every game he plays.

At Langley, fans were willing to pay close to $200 on StubHub’s ticket resale market.

Dale Sipe, senior vice president of the Giants, said the demand to see Bedard was unlike anything he’d ever seen in a regular-season game in the Western Hockey League.

“It’s unheard of for a regular season game,” Sipe said. “It’s a good deal. I’ve been in this business for a long time, and in western Canada, [Connor] McDavid or Sydney]Crosby is coming to town.
