Parents can apply for their child’s dental benefits with the Canada Revenue Agency starting Thursday. Federal liberals say it aims to ease the cost of living for low-income Canadians, but critics say it’s a drop in the bucket.
Used for dental services, this benefit is available to children under the age of 12 in families with an annual income of less than $90,000 and ranges from $260 to $650 per child depending on net income.
A one-time rental surcharge of $500 for low-income households is also being rapidly introduced this fall, and will be available starting December 12th.
