On November 17, hundreds of insurance professionals gathered at Toronto’s Liberty Grand to celebrate the 2022 annual Insurance Business Canada (IBC) Awards.
Now in its seventh year, the IBC Awards are recognized as the leading independent awards program in the insurance industry across Canada. The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding brokers, brokerage firms, insurers, underwriters, MGAs and risk managers for their performance, leadership and innovation over the past 12 months.
This year’s winners are:

- Steamatic Canada Award for Woman of Distinction – Celeste Power, Insurance Agency of Canada
- Travelers Canada Awards Brokerage of the Year (less than 10 staff) – Fuse Insurance Co., Ltd.

- XN Worldwide Insurance Award for Brokerage of the Year (10-100 Staff) – Man Insurance
- Underwriter of the Year – Amy Stiller, Northbridge Insurance
Alisa Cox, Executive Producer of Big Brother Canada, hosted this year’s IBC Awards. She began her career at the age of 21 as a reporter for Ottawa’s local television news, winning Harry Her Jerome Award while studying at Carleton University’s prestigious journalism program. In addition to her Canadian host of Big Brother, Cox has covered Grammy Awards, Oscar Awards, Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals, her ET her Canadian Survivor in Fiji and Los Angeles.
The event was held at the Liberty Grand in Toronto from 6pm to 10:30pm and included a lavish cocktail reception, awards ceremony and dinner banquet, and an afterparty.
