Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski advances to the second round of Wimbledon mixed doubles

Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and John Peers, an Australian partner, will be competing in the second round of the mixed doubles competition at Wimbledon.
The fourth-seeded duo defeated Demi Schuurs of the Netherlands and Ariel Behar of Uruguay 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday to move forward in 62 minutes.
Next to Dabrowski and Peers is the unseeded Brazilian tandem of Beatrice Hadadmaier and Bruno Soares in the second round on Sunday.
Dabrowski is the last player to stand in Canada at Wimbledon after Bianca Andreesque, Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger Aliassime were eliminated in the singles.
A player from Ottawa is also active in women’s doubles with Mexican partner Giuliana Olmos.
Their third round match is also set for Sunday.
