Canada uses a 200km / h high-speed train between Toronto and Quebec City-PlanetWeb.ca

Canada’s Minister of Transport Omar Alghabra has announced that Canada will soon be using high-speed trains on his Twitter account.

Trains travel on dedicated railroad tracks, reaching speeds of up to 200 km per hour, reducing travel time by approximately 25%. So, for example, a trip from Toronto to Montreal takes only about three and a half hours.

Some users say on Twitter that 200 km / h is a waste of time and that trains need to be at least 300 km / h.

According to Via Rail, on-time performance should be at least 95% due to the use of dedicated tracks.

Travel between TO and OTT, MTL and QC City, and between TO and MTL is the most frequent in Canada. Most of it is now done by car. High frequency rail projects increase reliability and frequency and reduce travel time in the QC City-TO corridor.

The High Frequency Rail Project allows Canadians to arrive early in their families and better connect our business, while reducing road congestion and providing low-emission travel options.

We were just detained in Saint-Perpetu by the CN train. This causes delays and stagnation and delays you! Through high-frequency rail projects, upgrading obsolete low-density rail infrastructure will establish new routes and improve on-time performance.

You can see a map of existing and new railroad tracks in Canada’s new high frequency railroad project.

However, it is interesting that no new dedicated railroad tracks are added between the small cities of Cotto and Montreal on the Ontario-Quebec border. I hope it doesn’t slow down the train.
