A 61-year-old man died after a semi-rollover on the highway north of Lak La Biesch.

Around 6 pm on Monday, Lac LaBiche RCMP and the fire brigade were summoned to roll over a single vehicle on the 881 highway, 15 km north of the village.

A 61-year-old man from Musgravetown, Newfoundland and Labrador was declared dead on the scene driving a cicada.

Police said the man was driving south when he lost control and the cicada rolled into the ditch to the north. The vehicle was equipped with compressed nitrogen gas, but it did not spill or leak.

La Clavish is about 220 kilometers northeast of Edmonton.
