BTS is heading to the White House during AANHPI Heritage Month on Tuesday.
K-POP superstars are set to talk to US President Joe Biden about the disturbing increase in anti-Asian hate crimes.
According to the statement read Billboard“President Biden previously talked about his commitment to combat the surge in anti-Asian hate crimes, signed the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act in May 2021, identified, investigated and reported on hate crimes, and hate crimes. The information is more accessible to the AA and NHPI communities.
“President Biden and BTS will also discuss the importance of diversity, inclusion and the BTS platform as a youth ambassador to spread the message of hope and positivity around the world.”

This visit comes after Biden recently finished his debut tour in Asia. Meanwhile, he held a three-day meeting in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
BTS issued a statement on social media in March 2021 during a series of anti-Asian hate crimes in the United States and a horrifying March 16 shooting at three massage parlors in Atlanta. Eight people died, six of whom were Asian women.

Their message at the time was, “I remember the moment when I faced discrimination as an Asian.
“We have endured explosives for no reason, and we were ridiculed by our appearance. We were even asked why Asians speak English,” he added, “hate for that reason.” And the pain of being the target of violence cannot be expressed in words. “
