In a message posted on Twitter Monday morning, Morrow said he was grateful for the encouragement he received from party members and former colleagues, but said he would not seek a top job.

Moreau said he would remain a party member and “continue to work for a more inclusive, fairer and more prosperous Quebec that respects the French-speaking majority and the other communities that make up Quebec society.”
Moreau, who turns 65 next month, was first elected as a liberal MNA in the election of Marguerite Deville in 2003, and the party formed its first government under the leadership of Jean Charest. , Re-elected in the following year’s general election, and re-elected in 2012 and 2014.
