Bob Odenkirk’s dramatic acting career came from an unlikely source.

The “Better Cole Sole” star stopped by “Late Night with Seth Meyers” to inspire the late comedian Chris Farley to take on dramatic acting instead of comedy. I shared the method.

The two were part of a comedy group in Chicago’s Second City.

“I was on stage with Chris Farley and Jill Tally in The Second City, and we were improvising the scene,” Odenkirk said. “And Chris was very interesting.”

It was on Farley’s comedy side that made Odenkirk aware that “Saturday Night Live” Alum was in his own league.

“I think Chris and I are acting.’I should be in a drama. That’s what I should do.” And I really had that crazy idea. I think I loved his existence very much, and he was very nice, and I thought I couldn’t compete with it. So put me in the drama and I would be very interesting. “
