Blue Jays hit Brewers for a big win in the opening game of the series

Milwaukee (AP) — Alejandro Kirk returns home 4-4 and returns home for three consecutive games before the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Milwaukee Brewers 9-4 on Friday night in the seventh inning. Hurt.

The Blue Jays scored three points in Trevor Kelley’s seventh off, allowing for a big geo solo shot and Kirk’s two-run blast, extending the lead to 8-1.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled Peter Stocheleki’s RBI in the ninth inning. Brewers scored two goals in the lower half.

Finally in Milwaukee

On Friday, the Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo was the first to set foot in Milwaukee’s stadium, but Brewers drafted twice in the 26th round of 1986 and the 6th round of 1987.

Montoyo reached the Brewers Triple A affiliate before being traded to the Montreal Expo in 1993.

Coach was interrupted

Blue Jays hitting coach Guillermo Martinez has begun suspension of five games. Prior to the Blue Jays’ 9-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday, he was punished by Major League Baseball for contacting referee Doug Edings during the exchange of lineup cards.

Blue Jays: RHP Emi Garcia was on the 15-day injured list with a left lumbar sprain. RHP Jeremy Beasley has been recalled by Triple-A Buffalo. … OF George Springer has been out of the lineup for two consecutive games with elbow problems. … RHP Nate Pearson, who hasn’t pitched to Toronto yet this season, is dealing with latitude tensions.

Brewers: RHP Brandon Woodruff is well on his way to two rehab missions, and his next start will be in the Big League. Craig Counsell did not specify a day for Woodruff to return, but Woodruff said he expected to pitch sometime in the two-game series at Tampa Bay starting Tuesday. Woodruff continued IL with an ankle injury, but since then has been working on Raynaud’s syndrome, which causes a decrease in blood flow to his fingers. “When it comes to pitching and throwing, the middle finger feels minimal and has reached a point where it doesn’t affect me,” Woodruff said. “I’m not going out there and I can’t feel my middle finger, so that’s an important part.” … INF Mike Broseau (a sprain on his right ankle) is back from the injured list.
