Under $17

Douro 2020, Flor de Crust, Quinta do Crust, Portuguese Red, $15.25, SAQ # 10838579. This vintage has a little more power and torque than previous incarnations, and that’s fine. Sancerre 2018, Cuvée Philippa, Domaine Paul Cherier, French White, $39.75, SAQ # 13448091. A very special Sancerre. Unusually for Sancerre, it is aged in oak barrels, resulting in a broader and more textured palate. But the juice has enough strength and concentration that it doesn’t taste like oak.
