That’s one of the reasons Heather Mughal moved to Langdon Settlement in 2007. She lived in Surrey, Columbia, British with her three children, ages 6, 4 and 1 at the time.

Six years ago she and her husband bought a four bedroom townhome, but with all the kids and “things”, the space was cramped.

“I had to do a little bit of juggling to make sure it worked,” she says with a laugh. They had been thinking about moving for a while, but COVID put their plans on hold. As the world opened up again, their plans began to take shape and plummeted in May 2022.

“We knew we wanted to stay in Langdon. We also knew we wanted a bungalow with all our vehicles and a three-car garage for storage,” she says.

The couple originally intended to purchase a resale home. But after doing some tours, they didn’t find what they wanted, so they started looking to build a new community.

“The real estate market was very hot at the time and the prices were very high, so we decided to build a new house because then we could make it what we wanted,” she said. said, adding that this was the couple’s first trip to the building.

So, on a sunny spring day, we toured Painted Sky, a new 107-hectare (265-acre) community in the heart of Langdon, just minutes from the couple’s townhome.

“It just felt right,” says Mughal. “It’s very accessible and I like the planned development of the boardwalks, promenades and parks.”

When complete, the community will have 1,000 residents and will be traversed by walking trails and parks.

Mughal and her husband purchased Harvard, a Sterling Holmes-designed bungalow on a corner lot. This design is exclusive to Painted Sky and is designed for lots from 66′ he to 80′. The couple were drawn to the home’s curb appeal and open-concept design.

A pantry is a vital necessity, and Mughal has equipped it with a coffee station. “I really like the clean look. I don’t like having appliances on the counter, so I wanted to hide some of it,” she says.

The house has many windows. This is another of his big selling points for the Mughal Empire.

“It’s going to be very bright and I’m looking forward to it,” she says. “And the backyard would be amazing. The sunsets here are amazing and the stars at night are just beautiful.”

Mughal and her family frequent homesites to see new homes sprout from the ground. She expects it to be completed in the early spring of 2023.

She’s excited to have more space to entertain her growing family.
