Avalanche’s Joe Sakic Wins Jim Gregory GM of the Year Award

Joe Sakic was appointed General Manager of the NHL in the 2022 NHL Draft, following the season he directed the Stanley Cup champion.
The award was chosen by the General Manager and a panel of executives and the media in a vote after the second round of the NHL Playoffs and named after the late Jim Gregory. 40 years at the NHL.
Sakick set Avalanche to the record for the best regular season in franchise history. Mark 56-19-7 was first at the Western Conference and second overall. He added Josh Manson, Artturi Lehkonen and Andrew Cogliano, the major contributors to the playoffs, to the trade and actively worked on the trade deadline to lead the team to the top.
Other finalists at the award were Julian Brisbore of Lightning and Chris Duryley of the Rangers.
