M’CHIGEENG, Ontario, Oct. 17, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — M’Chigeeng First Nation leadership prides itself on being forward-looking and always looking for ways technology can help communities . In pursuit of these progressive values, the Chief and Council partnered with Aivia Inc.’s Communikit to release a communication app for nations and their band members.

M’Chigeeng First Nation’s official app allows band members to register directly and immediately start receiving push notifications from the band office. Users can access news articles, event posts, job postings, forms, PDF resources, and even local emergency alerts. Band members can also use the built-in contact form to send questions and feedback directly to the band’s office.

“Making sure our members have access to services and information is of the utmost importance. Not everyone has social media, not everyone lives a life of We don’t plan to check the website regularly, but almost everyone has a smartphone,” explained the chief. Linda Debassiege.

Communications Officer Natalie Edwards extends the benefits of the mobile app even further: Their phone alerts them with push notifications that there is something they should pay attention to. Active communication, not passive communication. You can also tailor your messages to who is receiving them and verify that you have received your communications via analytics. This requires a lot of guesswork as to how effective our communication strategy is. ”

The official M’Chigeeng First Nation app can be downloaded from the Apple and Google Play stores. Download the app now and start receiving updates!
