The market moves above Vernon’s mountains

Please mark your calendar. The market season has moved into winter mode.

Business partners Ashley Hoppichler and Mayla Janzen maintain the Polson Artisan Market in several new destinations.

Beginning Thursday, November 24th, there will be a pop-up market four days a week at the Village Green shopping center. The pop-up mall His Market runs through his December 18th, with six vendors that change daily.

“We’re hoping to intercept people who might not hit the market with locally-made artisan goods at Christmas,” Hoppichler said.

The market will also be held at Predator Ridge on Friday, November 25th from 4-7pm.

“We are so excited to be part of this amazing indoor/outdoor market in collaboration with such an amazing place as Predator Ridge. There will be live entertainment from Kinshira, WL Seaton Secondary School singing carols, in the Christmas/Holiday spirit,” said Hoppichler.

“Sidney Boss will also be singing our holiday favorites. There will be 50 vendors participating, ranging from soaps to jewellery, charcuterie boards, honey, hats and many other local artisan vendors.”

Crepe Bistro and Mystic Pizza are on site and cater to large crowds. You can also make reservations at The Range Restaurant. Tickets are $15 and children under 12 are free, but tickets are required and are available online at predatorridge.com/events (tickets include a welcome drink of rum apple cider or hot chocolate).

Craftsmen can also be seen at the Silver Star Mountain Resort for its illumination on December 10th. The market opens on the hill at 3pm, prior to the annual lights-up.

The Vernon Farmers Market is closed for the season, but coordinator Fran Callahan has been named Market Manager of the Year by the BC Farmers Market Association.
