MISSION, British Columbia – British Columbia’s RCMP says a suspect was charged last spring after several people attending a boarding school march were hit by a pickup truck.
According to police, on June 4, a large number of people walked down the Rawheed Highway, just east of downtown Mission, during the boarding school certification march.
The cavalry said that as the group was moving along the road, the driver hit several people on the way and two suffered minor injuries.
Two days later, a 77-year-old man turned himself in to police.
The Mission RCMP said in a Wednesday release that 77-year-old Richard Manuel has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and is scheduled to appear in Abbotsford District Court on January 9, 2023.
