Anniversary 2022: Global BC Special “Remembers”

An anniversary ceremony will be held in downtown Vancouver on Friday, and thousands are expected to attend and pay their respects.

The Global BC special will air at 10:30 am PT on Global BC and BC1, according to BC’s recollection.

The special will be hosted by Chris Guyrus and Sophie Louie. It will also be streamed live on the Global BC Facebook page and Global News YouTube account mentioned above.

According to the city, the Remembrance Day Service in Victory Square is Vancouver’s oldest continuous annual ceremony.

First started in 1924, it is organized by the Vancouver Memorial Day Committee, a citizen volunteer group.

For solemn ceremonies, last post, lamentfly passes, changing guards, laying wreaths, veterans, military, cadets, police, brass bands, pipe and drum parades, and many tearful personal memory moments.

According to the city, more than 15,000 participants and citizens attend the ceremony each year.

In addition to events in downtown Vancouver, Remembrance Day ceremonies are held throughout the state.
