Mozilla has released the latest version of its popular web browser. Firefox 106and tHis edition comes with some powerful new features. Most notably an overhaul of the PDF viewer (which will take a long time). If you’re a Firefox user, or just want to switch browsers, here’s what you can expect in this latest version of Firefox.

Annotate PDFs within Firefox

Now you can do basic PDF editing in Firefox. You can use your browser to fill out PDF forms, add signatures, and add annotations. It’s not as powerful as a dedicated PDF editor app, but it’s good enough for most people, especially those who don’t need a separate app when the in-browser tools work just fine. If you need to sign a contract or fill out a survey or two, Firefox’s built-in PDF editor is all you need.

Text recognition support on Mac

This new version of Firefox is available on macOS Useful text recognition function. This integration allows you to copy text from images even when using Firefox. That way you don’t have to download the image first to extract the text you want to move elsewhere. In addition, the feature supports his VoiceOver feature on Mac, which can read text from images.

To use this feature, you must be running macOS 10.15 or later.

Pin private browsing mode to taskbar

Firefox 106 also gives you easy access to private browsing mode. You can now pin a shortcut to launch a private Firefox session to your Windows taskbar.

Try the new Firefox view

Firefox simplifies syncing your browsing data across devices. If you use Firefox on your phone and computer, you can use the Firefox View feature to find open and recently closed tabs on other devices.
