Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has announced the appointment of William Fawcett as Regional Legal Officer for North America. He is based in Chicago. Faucette is the successor to Julie Garson, who left the company in September.
Fawcett reports to Quirin Emmerich, Global Legal Officer at AGCS, and provides a matrix reporting line to Bill Scaldaferri, CEO of AGCS North America. Fawcett has over 20 years of experience building and leading the legal department and insurance business in a multinational environment.
“We are pleased to welcome William to the AGCS Legal Team,” Emmerich said. “His professional and leadership experience, coupled with deep insights into corporate trading and insurance operations, is a great asset for running our largest region. He is also part of a” new AGCS “strategy. We are committed to the strategic evolution of global legal functions. “
Fawcett joined AGCS from Haverford Holdings in Bermuda and served as a legal advisor. From 2012 to 2016, he was a co-founder and head of St. Bernard Assure Limited in Gibraltar, Europe’s first online-only car insurance company. Faucette also served as legal counsel at Flagstone Reinsurance Holdings in Luxembourg and AXA in New York, and held leadership positions in Claims at Endurance Specialty Holdings in Luxembourg and Swiss Re in Zurich.
