Brampton man charged in sexual assault case involving minors

A 30-year-old Brampton man faces numerous charges in connection with an investigation into a sex crime committed against a child.

York Regional Police (YRP) said it launched an investigation last month after learning that a 13-year-old girl had been involved in a non-consensual sexual relationship.

Police say the man approached the victim at Chingacousy Park several months ago.

In a November 8 news release, the YRP said, “During the summer, the defendant had multiple non-consensual sexual relations with the victim, including in the car and at home. .

Police said the accused may be employed in the medical field and may have previously worked at a school in the Peel area.

Brampton’s Greg Scarlett, 30, was arrested on Monday and charged with four counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference.

Police said Scarlett was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Investigators have released a photo of the suspect and urged them to come forward if there are any additional victims or witnesses.
