A job fair that helps with the serious labor shortage

More jobs are coming to BC, more workers are needed.

The BC government recently predicted that more than 1 million jobs will come to the state over the next 10 years.

The opportunity attracts “students and job seekers” who want to “hone their skills and find a rewarding job in the future.”

The 10-year forecast “helps governments and businesses direct resources to support the workforce of the future and provides up-to-date information to help British Columbians make decisions about their future career paths.” and read a post on the BC government website.

The Surrey Careers and Post-Secondary Education event will be held on September 30, right next to City Hall at the Civic Hotel.

“The event will showcase a wide variety of organizations,” said Pal. “Participants will be able to take advantage of the diversity that reflects the state’s booming job market.”

Pal added that job fairs are an easy way for potential employees and students to connect with a multitude of employers and educational institutions, all in one place.

“This speaks to the value of Black Press Media career events in today’s market,” she said. “If you can do it in person and she can discuss programs and businesses that interest you one-on-one, even better.”

According to the BC government, the state’s workforce will need to “build new skills and knowledge to meet the projected 1,004,000 job openings by 2031.”

The government predicts that 63% of these jobs will “replace those who are leaving the workforce permanently”, such as workers retiring.

“The remaining 37% will be new jobs created by economic growth and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The Surrey Careers and Post-Secondary Education event will be held on September 30, right next to City Hall at the Civic Hotel.

On September 30th, a post was posted on the Job Fair’s online notes featuring more than 35 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of jobs.

BC Corrections is the title sponsor of the job fair and the organization is in the process of recruiting new corrections officers.

Many post-secondary institutions also participate in job fairs, including Discovery Community College and Eton College.

The Career Fair will be held on Friday, September 30th from 11am to 3pm in the Civic Ballroom, 13475 Central Avenue, Civic Hotel, Surrey.
