IBAC Announces New Executive Officers and Board of Directors

The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) confirmed its Executive Committee and Board of Directors for 2022/23 following its annual meeting held last Thursday in St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick.

IBAC CEO Peter Braid said:

“As we move beyond the challenges of the last two years, the new board builds on the accomplishments of previous boards and provides strong leadership and direction moving forward.”

Robin Young, from Alberta, was named chairman of the executive committee, and Linda Dolan, from British Columbia, was named chairman.

Ontario’s Tracy Borland will be elected president-elect, while Quebec’s Mathieu Bruno and Manitoba’s Brett McGregor will be elected vice-presidents.

The following individuals have been appointed to the IBAC Board of Directors:

  • Jody Lohr (Alberta Insurance Brokers Association)
  • Jaycee Turtle (Saskatchewan Insurance Brokers Association)
  • Susan Gilbert (Manitoba Insurance Brokers Association)
  • Joseph Carnevale (Ontario Insurance Brokers Association)
  • Deborah Laferriere (Toronto Insurance Council),
  • Lucy Frechette (Regroupement des Cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Québec)
  • Brandon McGee (New Brunswick Insurance Brokers Association)
  • Aneill MacCaull (Nova Scotia Insurance Brokers Association)
  • David Cooke – Institute of Insurance Brokers, Prince Edward Island (IBAPEI)
  • Jeremy Cheetah – Insurance Brokers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (IBAN)
  • Andrew Janzen – Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia (IBABC)

“Our continued focus on supporting brokers and advocating for insurance consumers ensures that IBAC remains an effective voice for our members,” said Braid.
